Suggest Treatment For Lower Back And Lower Abdominal Pain

SEVERAL DAYS AGO I WOKE UP WITH A SLIGHTLY SORE BACK. I THOUGHT I HAD PULLED A MUSCLE IN MY LOWER BACK. AS THE DAY WENT ON THE PAIN GOT WORSE AND WORSE. BY THE END OF THE NIGHT I COULD BARELY WALK. AFTER A DAY OR SO THE PAIN IS NOT REALLY IN MY BACK IT S MORE IN THE LOWER ABDOMEN. THE REALLY WIERD PART IS IF I STAND IT SEEMS TO FEEL A LITTLE BETTER. IF I SIT FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME THE PAIN IS VERY BAD. I ALMOST FEEL LIKE I CAN T PUT ANY WEIGHT ON MY LEFT LEG WHEN I STAND.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are suffering from pain in the lower back and lower abdomen. Treatment of the mentioned pain will depend on the treatment of the cause, the factor causing you pain. Medical conditions that can cause you this type of pain are kidney infection, kidney stones, PID, diverticulitis, appendicitis, ovarian cyst, endometriosis, gall stones, constipation, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP / Urologist, the location, intensity and type of the pain needs to be studied in detail.

You should go through all routine blood works imaging tests and investigations for a detailed study on the pathology causing you discomfort. You will be given conservative treatment or recommended surgery depending on your symptoms and diagnosis made. In the meantime, take adequate fluids and water. Stay away from addictions if any. Avoid constipation, take laxatives if needed. To get relief from discomfort you can take PPIs. Taking Spasmol (spasmoproxyvon) and naproxen may also help. Always take one medicine at a time after meal.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
