Suggest Treatment For Lower Back Pain Caused Due To Narrowing Of Spinal Column
I have alot of pain in my lower back from severe narrowing of the spinal column . I ve tried epidurals with no relief. I am 70 and work everyday in my deli but I am taking hydrocodone and ibuprofen just about every day to keep going. Is there any help available and can I expect to loose my ability to walk.
hi , thanks for writing to hcm. age related backbone problem is common due to wear n tear of the vetebral column leading to narrowing of the disc space between the two vertebrae causing pain. the treatment which can give complete relief is surgical procedure though it is very risky and also your age may not permit it. try to apply topical analgesics and go for physiotherapy . it can give you symptomatic relief. you can take calcium supplements and drugs that prevent osteoporosis like biphosphonates after consulting an orthopaedician only. take care.
