Suggest Treatment For Lower Back Pain, Severe Cough And Crackling Feeling In Lungs

Hi, i have a Dr s appointment this coming Monday. But i just wanted to see if i should be making it an earlier day. I ve had lower back pain for the past 5 weeks and it s just getting worse. I ve had a bad cough with crackling in my lungs when i breathe and just recently been given medication for it. My back pain intensifies dramatically (often the pain brings me to my knees) when i cough or sneeze. I have tingling/cramping down my buttox and down the backs of my legs, generally stopping at the knees. I cant bend forward or backward without the pain coming. I woke up one morning with the pain, no strenuous activity or heavy lifting brought it on. I haven t had any incontinence or anything, but am pretty sure my pain pain is causing possible nerve problems. I am a 21 year old mother, and am getting quite nervous about it being something serious. I d appreciate some sort of answer for the time being, if you can. Thanks

Hello,

There is possibility of lumbar muscle spasm due to lifting of heavy weight. You can continue your medication of dynapar MR. Take neurotropic medication like methylcobalamine and gabapentin consulting your doctor. Physiotherapy plays an important role in treatment. Physiotherapy like an ultrasound and Tens may give you relief. Do hot fomentation over involved muscle. If not relieved then you may need clinical examination and further investigation like MRI spine and X-ray.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
