Suggest Treatment For Lower Back Pain

I made a little movement this morning and now my lower back is hurting with sharp pains-I iced for 20 minutes on and wondering if I should put heat to it. I ve had this before and found that in a few days it will go away, but until then It hurts to do anything at all-like walk or get up from sitting down. What should I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it is due to spine related conditions like a prolapsed disc or nerve compression.
As first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
