Suggest Treatment For Lump In Neck, Itching And Irritated Skin On Ear

My daughter is 8 and apparently her earrings have been badly irritating her skin but she loves them so she hadnt told me. I noticed today that she has been scratching to the point of blood by where she wears her earring and upon further examination that there is a lump directly on top of the vein in her neck. I am very concerned, should I be?

Anesthesiologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be an embryological remnant that anatomically closure of the tract hasn't closed properly, so that it may have turned as sinus or fistula as per your findings, but I feel it needs opinion from otorhinolaryngologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sivasankar S., Anesthesiologist
