Suggest Treatment For Lump Like Swelling On Pisiform Bone
Hi, I am a 39 year old female. I noticed in the last few days a small lump or swelling on my pisiform bone of my right hand (I am right handed). The bone appear to look a little pronounced like a lump. I have no pain when I move the wrist but it is a little tender to the touch or when I rest it on the desk to use my laptop. I had some slight stresses to the area recently also both via moving some heavy boxes and also from playing with my teenage son and trying to demonstrate some basic techniques to escape some grips hand to hand encounters. Please advise .
Taking into account your recent physical activities, I think the swollen lump you noted is due to trauma on wrist and hands. I think you should get a further consultation with orthopedic specialist and run X-ray and/or MRI of the wrist and hands in order to evaluate the changes and determine the right diagnosis and treatment strategy. Avoid physical stresses until you see the orthopedic specialist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
