Suggest Treatment For Lump On The Left Foot

I have a lump or bulge on my left foot between my heel and my toes on the outside of my foot. It isn t too painful but seems to bother me more as the day goes on. It isn t red and I haven t taken anything for the pain. It came on gradually but doesn t seem to be getting any worse. It stays about the same. I walk about 3 miles almost everyday for exercise in hiking boots which fit well. Do I need to see a podiatrist?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to blunt trauma.

For further assessment, you may require X-Ray of that affected foot after orthopedician consultation.

For pain, you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Use support while walking.

Apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally and heating pads will also help.

In case of fracture, you may require surgical intervention after orthopedician consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale, Family and general physician
