Suggest Treatment For Lump Under The Armpit

I found a lump under my armpit 1 week ago today. It is small, smooth, hard, doesnt move around and painless. I am 22 years old and a female. I do have history of breast cancer in my family (maternal grandmother). Is this something i should have checked out?

Hello dear. It looks like there might be some lymph node enlargement due to any infection around the arm pit.

But still if you want to rule out serious conditions like breast cancer, do a self breast examination and see if there are any lumps in the breast. If you have any doubts get examined by a surgeon or gynecologist. If they find any lump they will suggest FNAC test and Mammography.

If it is just lymph node enlargement it should subside with a 5 day course of antibiotics

Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
With warm regards
Dr Sanjay Kini
