General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello sir/madam,
First of all thank you for posting your concern on HCM.
A definite diagnosis can be made only after proper examination and investigations. But I will give you some information that might help you.
1)Plantar warts are caused by a virus called Human Papilloma Virus whereas corn/Clavus is caused by chronic friction on the skin(so if it is a corn you will have a history of wearing ill fitting shoes that exerts pressure on that area. Also the new lesions will be on a similar area.)
2)Plantar warts are heavily calloused, cauliflower like(thick cracking skin)and will have dark spots.corns usually have a uniformly thickened skin.
3)apply some pressure on the lesion from below and then laterally(squeeze).in the case of corn foot, appling pressure from directly below will be more painful.Whereas warts will be uniformly painful.
4)plantar warts can appear anywhere on the body.

So my advice, if you are in doubt consult the doctor and tell him about your concern.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you.
