Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been sick for about a month. My ear hurts. went to a doc. they said my ears were fine. Lots of mucous and phlegm. i was on antibiotics for an infection in my lungs twice in the last two months. now when i blow my nose everything like mucous and phlegm are clear. I also have a sore throat that comes and goes on an hourly basis
Since you are suffering from repeated lung infections, it is important to know if chest X ray was done and whether any diagnosis of pneumonia or cavitating lesions made. It will also help to know if you were tested for tuberculosis. If you felt better with antibiotics then it is less likely to be tuberculosis. Sore throat coming and going in an hour is difficult to explain. A thorough throat examination is required to know if there is residual throat infection. Please do warm saline water gargle every day in morning and evening. This will prevent recurrent throat infection. The lung infection, if it appears again might need to be evaluated by chest CT scan to know if you have any focal or diffuse lung changes like bronchiectasis causing repeat infections.
