Hello doctor. My cousin brother (stays in India) is diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma (mediastinal) in August 2011. Now it has been metastasized to CNS. He was going through chemotherapy BFM90. Now doctor is contemplating whether to have bone marrow transplantation or not. But what I read that the aggressive form of this lymphoma may be curable. Then why can't doctor continue with chemotherapy? They are also not suggesting immunotherpay. Could you please suggest me what to do in this stage? Is there any hope for him? If he goes through bone marrow transplantation then how long he could survive disease free? Thanks. Reshmi Mukherjee.

Suggest Treatment For Lymphoblastic Lymphoma
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Ideal treatment will be to give aggressive chemotherapy followed by a transplant. That only raises hope for a cure. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
