Suggest Treatment For Lymphoma And High WBC Count

My friend is 42 years old and has been diagnosed with Lymphoma: The doctor says they caught ii in the nick of time. What does this statement mean and is Lymphoma? He also did blood work that indicated a high WBC count, how does this come into play with the primary diagnosis?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Lymphoma is a malignancy or cancer of lymph nodes.
The treatment of lymphoma depends on the site of involvement- lymph node or some other site and type of lymphoma.
The treatment of most of the lymphomas is primarily chemotherapy or drug therapy.
High blood counts in case of lymphoma can be due to spillage of lymphoma cells into blood.
You need to consult a hematologist for clinical assessment, review the diagnosis and start the treatment.

Thanks and take care
