Suggest Treatment For Male Yeast Infection In A Child

My 8 year old son (not circumcised) is constantly scratching at his privates. When I asked him about it he said it has white rocks on it like sand or sugar. When I checked he does in fact have this around his foreskin. We took him to the Doctor and he said it was a yeast infection and gave us cream for it. We have exhausted the cream and have tried various other things to no avail. PLEASE HELP.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Because the cream for the fungal infection has not worked, it is important for the child to have a follow up with the doctor. Very likely an alternative diagnosis can the cause and the doctor may need to repeat the examination and probably order some tests to identify the cause and start proper treatment.

I hope this is helpful and answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
