Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello doctor, My mother is having melasma from past 5 years which occured after she got medicine for dengue treatment. Earlier skin was of wheatish colour and healthy. Though she had took medicine from various dermatologists but all in vain. Currently she startd using vlcc de-pigmentation cream since 4 days which results in slight itching and acne on her face. Please suggest some long term remedy for the blesmishes. Thanks in anticipation.
As per my clinical experience, the melasma is related to antibodies production via immune mechanics. The types of various creams as steroids or de-pigmentation are not going to recover it at 5 years period. It would be best to discuss the ozone or oxygen chamber therapy with hyperbaric oxygen or Laser therapy with your dermatologist to get her cured.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
