Suggest Treatment For Memory Issues, Confusion And Visual Hallucinations

Hi my sister has just been diagnosed with cerebal atrophy. She is 36 and has been a heavy drinker for about 15-20 years and has also suffered with eating disorders. She was admitted to hospital just this week due to collapsing from dehydration/malnutrition. Since then she is very confused and has no short term memory, thinks things have happened when they haven t e.g. dead family members have been visiting her in hospital ! The neurologist has said the damage is permanent and she will not improve out of current state, they are looking to put her in 24 hour residential care. I have been reading online that cerebal atrophy is not necessarily permanent in alcoholics and therefore wondered if she might improve in the future with continued abstinence from alcohol and good nutrition?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the atrophy of brain then this can be reverse but actually this is nothing to worry because this may not cause any clinical symptoms, but it would be better to stop the alcohol consuming, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
