Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a injury while playing tennis and was diagnosed recently after an MRI was done with the following: There is some fissuring at the patellar apex with mild chondromalacia. There is edema within the superolateral aspect of the infrapatellar fat pad. There is adjacent tendinosis at the proximal patellar tendon with interstital tearing involving at least 50 % of the proximal patellar tendon fibers. The quadriceps tendon appears to be normal. There is minimal joint fluid with no significant effusion. The anterior and posterior cruciate and medial and lateral collateral ligaments are unremarkable. There is mild free edge fraying at the lateral meniscal body. There is intrasubstance signal at the posterior horn medial meniscus with no extension to the articular surface and no significant tear suspected. There is mild femorotibial chondromalacia. What would you suggest is the best method for recovery? Surgery? Non-Surgical procedure? I am 6 1 and 165 LBS. Male.
