Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed about six months ago with meralgia paresthetica. I ve noticed howevser that I ve got muscles that are very sensitive when pressed even lightly. These muscles also feel like a washboard and also with small knots about the size of a BB pellet. I ve been getting massages which have helped reduce the size of these problems as well as lessen the symptoms of the meralgia paresthetica. Is there anything else I can do between the massages to help?
Wearing loose clothing might help. Don't walk or stand too much. It can aggravate the pain. Try to lose weight since obesity is a cause. Diabetes can cause entrapment of lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. Painkillers like NSAIDS and other related drugs might help. Daily exercises can ease the pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Gautham Baskaran
