Suggest Treatment For Migraine And Spotting After Menstrual Bleeding?
hi, iam 30 yrs old...(married) I hv been suffering with migraine almost once in 3 days from last month and I got my periods on 13 th aug which was little early but period was normal but after finshing my periods I observed spotting in last 15 days for almost 4 times.... and especially spotting occurs when Iam having migraine... please tell me what could be the reason and whom should I consult (gynic/neuro)??
You are suggested to get clinically examined by an OBGYN. Spotting can occur due to hormonal imbalance, implantation bleeding or pathology (polyp / fibroid, etc). Get blood and imaging tests done.
Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected and your clinical condition. For migraine, you can take sumatriptan (Imitrex). Stay in a comfortable environment, avoid sunlight. Take small meals multiple times.
Avoid constipation, take laxatives at bed time. Stay well fed & hydrated. Dehydration, stress and anxiety can trigger migraine. Avoid addictions if any.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
