Suggest Treatment For Migraine

Yes I am a long time Chronic Migraine patient who also has a pseudo tumor. My pressure was normal at my last Lumbar puncture. However, I am suffer 3-4 Migraines a week. This is affecting my life in a bad way. I have tried everything I know. I have had 3 nerve blocks within the last 4 weeks. They last a day or 2 and that is it. I have recently on May 31, 2014 had my first botox injections so far no results. Please help me. I also have tried acupuncture, and chiropractic tx.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!
I read your question and understand your concern.
You have two disorders so this complicates the situation. I would recommend Topamax which is an antiepileptic drug effective for both these disorders. It must be taken increasing the dose slowly . I would also recommend to change your diet and avoid chocolates, alcohol, which can trigger migraine attacks. Losing weight is very important in pseudo tumor. I would also advice you to regulate your sleep , very important in migraine.
If you already have tried these things the end an occipital nerve stimulation would be helpful to have pain relief. But it's a mini surgical procedure and you should consult with a neurosurgeon about it.
Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes Dr. Abaz Quka
