Hi, my aunty is having a mild cerebral atrophy, I am attaching her report below, kindly suggest what can be done, IMPRESSION - NCCT brain reveals a tiny calcified lesion in the right parietal lobe in grey white matter junction s/o inactive granuloma - probably NCC; MILD CEREBRAL ATROPHY.
1.Mild cerebral atrophy is seen as a age related changes - any thing over 55-60 years of age. 2.Also seen in any systemic disease the patient is suffering from. 3.The calcification seen - are usually old healed infection, multiple suggest NCC - neuocysticercosis. 4. In this case a contrast study is recommended to see any associated findings. 5. If patient is symptomatic - its required. Other wise present findings are not suspicious.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
