Suggest Treatment For Mild Fever And Vomiting In Children

My 3 year old began a slight fever last night ...in the early am it peaked so I gave him the proper dose of a fever reducer.... Immediately after washing it down with water he vomited. My son has only had fever reducer a couple of times... He s never ill. I gave him a second dose today with food in his stomach and up it came again?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of mild fever and vomiting which seems to be due to viral infection leading to electrolyte imbalance in body.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start treatment with combination of fluoroquinolones and ornidazole. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy food. Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined and start treatment after prescription. You should avoid taking dairy products in excess. You can give banana on daily basis and light food. Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate yourself.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
