Suggest Treatment For Mild Headache, Cough And Red Eyes

I have a mild headache...and very scratchy red eyes. I have been using zytec and flonase. I have also taken some mucinex with a decongestant in it...but not at the full dose. ..Just a few each day when my nose was super runny or my head hurting. I have also had a cough, but not all day, just in the morning.

Hi,

Based on the symptoms you have described, you may be experiencing a mild cold or seasonal allergy. To alleviate your headache and cough, you can try taking over-the-counter pain relievers such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen. To relieve your cough, you can try taking cough suppressants that contain dextromethorphan.

For your red, scratchy eyes, you can try using over-the-counter antihistamine eye drops or artificial tears to relieve the irritation. It is also important to avoid rubbing your eyes, as this can exacerbate the irritation.

If your symptoms persist or worsen, it may be a good idea to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation and treatment. They may be able to recommend other medications or therapies to help alleviate your symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
