Hello,
Left knee mild
osteoarthritis and medial meniscal undisplaced tear are chronic conditions which can be managed with medications, rest and exercises. My recommendations are as follows:
1) NSAIDs like tab. Ibuprofen or tab. Naproxen is to be taken twice daily for 2 weeks.
2) To prevent gastric irritation, tab. Pantop is to be taken once daily before food.
3) If you have any problems like kidney failure or bleeding problems, you shouldn't take NSAIDs but opioids like Oxycodone,
Hydrocodone and Tramadol can be taken twice daily for 2 weeks.
4) Most important than medication is
physical therapy to strengthen the quadriceps muscles. Please mention to your physical therapist that you have
medial meniscus undisplaced tear, so that he won't exert your knee much.
5) Calcium and vitamin D supplements are a must daily.
6)Osteopenia is age related and
cervical spondylitis can also be treated by physical therapy by strengthening the neck muscles and this reducing pain.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
