Suggest Treatment For Minor Head Injury Causing Severe Headaches
sir,my father got an injury to the head due to the fall off a brick and causes bleeding for sometime and then stopped and consulted a doctor and said it was a minor injury and dressed it up.He had severe headache. Will there be any other severe problems?Any need to take CT scan? will there be any problem with the skull bone?
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Most of individuals after even minor head injury develop headache as complication. In most cases the headache usually last for about 1-2 weeks. If he developed bleeding from nose or ear or developed unconsciousness after injury then there is urgent need for CT scan otherwise there is no need to worry. Any skull bone injury can be ruled out easily by X ray skull. You can consult any good doctor for that.
For his headache medicines like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac can help. Ask him to take plenty of fluids and avoid straining excessively for few days. Visit a doctor for prescription of the drugs.
