My grandson went to the emergency room at doctor hospital today. The doctor said he might have mono, kissing disease. His neck was swollen on the right side and the doctor cut his neck to let it bleed out. Is this right? I don t think so. What do ya say.
INFECTIOUS MONONUCLEOSIS ( KISSING DISEASE)CAUSED BY EBSTEIN BARR VIRUS PRESENTS WITH FEVER, ENLARGED LYMPH GLANDS IN THE NECK. SWELLING ON ONE SIDE MAY BE LOOKS LIKE PAROTITIS, I DEFER FROM THE DIAGNOSIS OF INFECTIOUS MONONUCLEOSIS.THERE IS BLOOD TEST ( ANTIBODY TEST)TO CONFIRM THE DISEASE ONCE YOU SUSPECT CLINICALLY.
