Suggest Treatment For Mood Swings, Fatigue And Acne

I m 24 years old, and had my 3rd child 6 1/2 months ago. As I was headed out of the hospital, I got a depo shot. I ve not gotten any more shots since then, but still do not have my menstrual cycle. I m gaining weight as soon as I breathe around food, and am currently at 225 lbs. When I left the dr for my 6 week check up, I was 221 lbs. I cannot lose the weight no matter what I try, and took pregnancy tests just the other day 1 regular, and 1 digital, both say I m not pregnant. I have severe migraines, and mood swings, fatigue and now I m breaking out in acne all on my face and around my breasts. This doesn t feel normal. any solutions? !

Hi,

The depo shot might be responsible for many of your symptoms and the depo in itself may effect your menstruation and you might not get a period in 3 months after the injection. If you are breastfeeding this might also cause you not to have the periods for months so it is not unusual to have months go by and you have no periods.

As for the weight changes, this can be from the shot as well but to make sure you may make a TSH and FT4 test to rule out thyroid problems which might also cause problems with weight, mood swings and menstruation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
