Suggest Treatment For Mood Swings While Having Bipolar Disorder

I feel my best friend is polar. That is I am sure of it. I want to know how do I handle her mood swings and not allow it to control my moods. Also, we are room mates and I m wondering how she s able to hide it from others if this is her problem. She can be being so mean to me and then answer the phone or door and completely change her personality. Help. She s 74 and will have to live alone if we don t remedy this somehow because if I go she always gets robbed by her own children who are grown , spoiled , lazy , greedy substance abusers.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Because mood swings in bipolar disorders is a very common phenomenon. Don't let her alone and try to entertain her with whatever you can do. She may go into depression. Visit psychiatrist as early as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
