Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The back of my arms are mottled. Not my legs, just my arms. This has occurred for the past 2-3 years. I exercise all the time and there s no reason my circulation should be impaired. I m pretty fair skinned. Is this just my skin texture or should I be concerned?
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If you do not have any other symptoms along with the mottled skin (also called livido reticularis), there is nothing to be worried about. It can occur as standalone condition without any underlying disorders. However, if you have any otherbassiciated symptoms, you need to follow up with your primary care provider as several conditions like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiac and pulmonary issues can cause mottled skin.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
