I am 9 weeks post partum. I have had multinodular goiter prior to pregnancy and I went for an ultra sound yesterday and it showed hardly any normal tissue on left side. I had 2 biopsies prior to pregnancy and the result was negative. Should I be worried about anything serious? Is there a chance that things will calm down and it can be left alone?
Hello, I read carefully your concern and understood your query. Unfortunately the thyroid nodules to not reduce the dimensions, in contrary they have a tendency to increase. The only solution (if they are symptomatic) is the surgical removal. The sensitivity of cytology is high, so the chance to be malignant is very low.
