Suggest Treatment For Muscle Pain And Inflammation In The Right Feet
Dr Rynne, I have just started on glucophage. My glucose level is 7.3. My Dr. gave me three months supply. I have experienced muscle pains and flu like symtoms. Right now my left foot is inflamed and feels like plantarfaciatis. Should I stop taking this medication or inform my Dr. Ive been taking this drug for 2 wks. I also take zaroxolyn and lasik.
I do not think the inflamed foot is from Glucophage. It might be a bacterial infection. It is common for diabetics to have such complications related to muscular-skeletal system. You might need prescription antibiotics.
You should discuss with your doctor about the diuretics you are currently taking at the same time (Zaroxolyn and Lasix). Should check blood electrolytes and complete blood count.
Keep your legs raised. Apply cold compresses locally until you see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
