Suggest Treatment For Muscle Spasms, Cramps And Pain In Side Of Body

I have been suffering from severe muscle spasm, cramping and bone pain predominantly on mu right side for a few years now. While it will occasionally affect my left leg, it s mostly the right. Over the years I ve been test for gallbladder and hernia becuase of the cramping in the right side, DVT and PAD in the right leg, pinched nerve in the upper right side of my back, pulled musle in right arm, etc.. everything always comes back fine. But even my doctors can clearly see that the muscles can become so tight my foot pulls up and my leg twists. Someitmes I can t even stand up straight. And there is a more prenounced weakness in the upper right arm. If I m very tired or after exercising for a long time I begin to list to the right side like a boat in the water. I have had half my thyroid removed becuase of a large mass, and there is a smaller mass in the remaining right half, but the endocrinologist does not feel that it is a factor. any help??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on your symptoms, you may be suffering from a muscle or nerve disorder. Several conditions could be causing your symptoms, including fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, or even multiple sclerosis.

You must see a healthcare provider for a thorough evaluation and diagnosis. Your healthcare provider may recommend imaging studies, such as an MRI or CT scan, or electromyography (EMG) to help diagnose the underlying cause of your symptoms.

In terms of treatment, depending on the underlying condition, treatment options may include physical therapy, medications, nerve blocks, or even surgery. Your healthcare provider can discuss the best treatment options for your specific condition.

In the meantime, it may be helpful to try some self-care techniques to alleviate your symptoms. This can include gentle stretching and exercise, heat therapy, massage, and relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or meditation. It is also important to maintain a healthy diet, get enough sleep, and manage stress levels.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
