Suggest Treatment For My Bruised Left Leg

I fell last night and the top of my left leg is deep black and blue, with swelling and a large hematoma about the size of the palm of my hand. No pain can walk all around with little pain. Been icing and taking advil. Any suggestions on how I should proceed

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can be bruise as hematoma could have been with major vessel rupture inside. Hopefully it will resolve spontaneously.

Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be continued for a week. Topical anti inflammatory drugs may be helpful. Ice packs should also continued.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
