Suggest Treatment For Myasthenia Gravis

I have Myasthenia Gravis, and take Hyrrocodone/Acetaminifrin for arthritis pain because nsaids reduced kidney function. However I get only about 2-3 hrs. Sleep. I tried OxyContin time release and got 6 hr. sleep. However BCBS will not pay for it. They will however pay for Morphine time release. I took 1 time release 10 mg. At night and two 7.5 mg Hydrocodone during the day in lieu of 4 7.5 Hydrocodone / day. Will I be in any danger using morphine?

Hi,

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Morphine is not among the drugs which are risky to be used in a myasthenia gravis patient if that is what worries you. So it can be taken safely, no added risk from this new medication. I hope it helps you have some longer pain free sleep.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
