Hi . I have Been referred to a gync for a myometrial cyst in my uterus. I am still mensruating. Sometimes my periods are heavy but they only last 3 days. I also had 2 episodes of pain in my lower right side. I have had a trasvaginal and lower abdominal ultrasound. My family doctor said all my bloodwork was normal. He also asked if I was pregnant which I am not. Please tell me what this may be and if it s serious.i am 47 and have 2 grown children
Hello, Thanks for the concern. According to history you have heavy bleeding with pain in lower right side. It might be adenomyosis, nabethion cyst , arcuate vein. And if your doctor says that your sonography report shows nothing as mentioned than it should be heavy periods. For pain in abdomen you can take meftal spas tablet. For heavy periods you can take contraceptive pills for three consecutive months untill it become regular. So immediately consult your treating gynaecologist, discussed with him and do further management under his guidance. Take care
