Suggest Treatment For Nail Scars On Arms And Neck

I got 3-4 scar on neck and on my arm from my girlfriend s nails. I applied an anti-septic over it. But now scars are bit swollen. So I took an Anti-allergic. Could it be more harmful? Because it is getting red in the surrounding area of the scar and also a bit painful

Hi,

If the scars on your arms and neck are swollen, red, and painful, you may have developed an infection. It's important to seek medical attention from a healthcare provider to ensure that the infection is treated appropriately. They may prescribe antibiotics or other medications to help clear the infection.

In the meantime, you can take the following steps to help promote healing and reduce the appearance of the scars:
* Clean the area: Gently clean the affected area with mild soap and water to remove any dirt or bacteria.
* Apply a warm compress: Applying a warm, moist compress to the area can help soothe the skin and reduce swelling.
* Use over-the-counter scar treatment: There are several over-the-counter scar treatment products available, such as silicone sheets and gels, which can help improve the appearance of scars.
* Protect the area from further injury: It's important to avoid further injury to the affected area, as this can prolong the healing process.
* Eat a healthy diet: Eating a well-balanced diet rich in nutrients can help support the body's natural healing process.
* Be patient: Scars take time to heal, and it may take several weeks or even months for the scars to fade.

It's important to note that taking an anti-allergic medication without a doctor's prescription may not be effective or safe. It's always best to consult with a healthcare provider before taking any new medications.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
