Suggest Treatment For Nappy Rash In The Perineum Region

Hi, my 10 mnth old baby boy developed a nappy rash between his anus and testicle area 8 days back. Havve tried sudocrem, abzorb powder , and siloderm but hasnt got better. Skin seems to have peeled off causing much pain. He also has loose stools for past 5-6 days 6-7 times a day. Started Enuff 10 since yesterday. Pleasd advice for the rash. There is oozing as well. Just applied cloben-g.

Hi,

First of all, you should discontinue using nappy. The rash seems to be due to constant irritation of the part, along with cleaning the area by rubbing after excessive motions he has. Keep the part open&dry.clean after motion gently with wet and dry cotton followed by gentle application of soframycin skin cream with a dot of steroid skin cream, blended well in soothing skin cream.

Don't apply it in large amounts. Use just sufficient amount to cover the eroded part. Consult a pediatrician to control loose motions. Let him have breast milk only (if not allergic to it). Consult a doctor to get it tested. If no relief in 2-3 days, he needs oral medications and should be taken to a dermatologist.
