Suggest Treatment For Nasal Congestion, Consistent Cough And Vomiting

i have been sick for almost 4 weeks now. I went to the doctor a week ago and got antibiotics. But I still have nasal congestion and cough nonstop. Every time I cough I gasp for air and feel like my throat is closing. And I throw up anything I eat. I look at the back of my throat because it s starting to hurt from coughing so much and I seen kinda red bumps on the back of my throat , I m concerned.

Hello and Welcome to Healthcare magic forum!

You are having chronic laryngitis, Laryngitis is the infection and inflammation of the vocal chords or the voice box, usually chronic laryngitis occurs when larynx is affected commonly from alcohol, smoking overuse of voice, chronic sinusitis or allergic rhinitis, esophageal re-flux less commonly by infection from virus or even by bacteria; the symptoms of laryngitis include :

pain , sore throat, difficulty in swallowing, loss of voice, cough nausea and vomiting and choking sensation, sometimes with fever and malaise.

You need to undergo laryngoscopy for confirmation of the diagnosis, Since the antibiotics are not working after your doctor does laryngoscopy he will confirm the diagnosis and treat the underlying cause.

To prevent the pain:

Drink plenty of fluids and take steam inhalation, avoid coffee or alcohol if you have the habit and give as much as possible rest to your voice, avoid spicy foods.

Wishing you complete recovery!
