You are having
chronic laryngitis, Laryngitis is the infection and inflammation of the vocal chords or the voice box, usually chronic laryngitis occurs when larynx is affected commonly from alcohol, smoking overuse of voice,
chronic sinusitis or
allergic rhinitis, esophageal re-flux less commonly by infection from virus or even by bacteria; the symptoms of laryngitis include :
pain ,
sore throat, difficulty in swallowing, loss of voice, cough nausea and vomiting and choking sensation, sometimes with fever and malaise.
You need to undergo
laryngoscopy for confirmation of the diagnosis, Since the antibiotics are not working after your doctor does laryngoscopy he will confirm the diagnosis and treat the underlying cause.
To prevent the pain:
Drink plenty of fluids and take steam inhalation, avoid coffee or alcohol if you have the habit and give as much as possible rest to your voice, avoid spicy foods.
