Suggest Treatment For Nasal Discharge And Pain Around The Eyes

Hello! I had headaches the past couple of weeks and went into the ER because of it. What I told the doctor was that I had gotten sick from a hangover and they injected me with some IVs of water and some vitamins I think. Lately, I ve had a pain around my eyes/sinus area. Been having excess mucus for 2 months maybe? I can hear mucus in my nose when I sleep on my side sometimes. Anyways, I ve been blowing my noe constantly, but when I do I get this horrible pus-like smell. I m worried that this will be a lasting thing. Do you have any advice?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Your symptoms are clearly pointing towards sinus infection or sinusitis..
You have pus like smell from the nose and nasal discharge because the sinuses drains through the nostrils only..

There seems to be accumulation of infectious mucous in the sinuses..
You should consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..
A sinus x-ray can be done to rule out the exact condition of the sinuses..

You can be advised a course of antibiotics like Augmentin and anti- inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.
Start using decongestant nasal sprays like Oxymetazoline..
Take decongestant like Phyenylephrine and antihistamine Levocetrizine..
Do steam inhalation and saline nasal irrigation..
Do warm compresses around the nostrils..
Avoid sitting in air conditioners and cold foods till you get better..
