Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am suffering from anxiety which causes serious nausea. I bought som nausea tablets from the pharmacy which are promethazene tablets. I went to my doctor and she prescribed me with 10mg of citalopram for my anxiety. I was just wondering if it is safe for me to take these em together every day and if there are any side effects/harm that can be done to my health?
I went through your details. In the present circumstances, you need not to take the nausea tablets mainly because the doctor prescribed anti-anxiety drug after understanding the whole problem and doctor felt the anxiety tablet should ease your nausea symptom too. Therefore instead of worrying about your condition, trust your doctor. Also you should try psychotherapy techniques to manage your anxiety.

hello Welcome here, Citalopram is a good drug for anxiety. it is relatively safe and has no serious long term side effects. You can take both drugs together. But as your nausea settles down, you can stop promethazine. This drug can cause sleepiness.
Also, practice relaxation exercises like deep breathing and meditation to help you in anxiety.
Thanks.
