Hi there,
The most common causes of
diarrhea are medications, chronic infections, and
irritable bowel syndrome. If you recently started a new medication within the past 3-4 weeks, I would recommend returning to your prescribing doctor to get it adjusted to a different medication. If not, then you are going to want to get blood work to check for electrolytes, metabolic, vitamin, and endocrine causes, as well as bacterial, Celiac's, Crohn's, and
ulcerative colitis. Your doctor may also want a stool sample to send to the lab. In the meantime, your prescribing doctor can give you medication to help decrease the diarrheal episodes.
I would recommend avoidance of high-fiber foods, fats, milk products, caffeine, and alcohol. These can worsen symptoms.
