General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Excessive bruising is commonly a symptom of anemia. It can be due to the side effects of the medications you might be taking(prednisone, aspirin, etc).

Medical conditions like blood disorders & vitamin deficiencies.

Cold compression, compression effectively reduces swelling by wrapping the bruised area gently with crepe bandage. This should be done for the first time by the treating doctor or the physiotherapist.

Keep the foot elevated (if bruise is in the foot), wear protective gear, take acetaminophen (one sos when needed) for relief.

Visit ER, get physically examine to detect the factor (pathology) causing you the discomfort. Get evaluated, get treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
