Suggest Treatment For Nausea And Fever In A Child

My 6 year granddaughter has just completed a 12 hour car journey without any problems, during the last 25 miles she got car sick. We put her to bed but she has vomited again during the night and now has a temp of 102 or 103 she is sleeping at the moment. We are also 2000 feet above our usual sea level (skiing) should we take her to the local doctor.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,

based on what you said, your child is most probably experiencing food poisoning with gastroenteritis.

I would suggest
syp. ciprofloxacin 125mg twice daily
syp. domperidome twice daily
ORS in 1 litre clean water.

fluids should be given frequently and if symptoms does not improve, you can get your daughter checked by a primary care doctor nearby.

Wish your daughter a safe and speedy recovery. I shall be happy to assist if you have further questions.
