Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 23 yr old daughter has a part hx of kidney stones. She was in ER last Tues due to R flank pain. There is a 17mm kidney stone and more in her right kidney My concern is that she has been nauseated and lethargic since the ER visit. she is unable to take her prescribed pain meds because the nausea gets worse even when she takes Zofran with the Percocet. The ER did a U/A but only to rule out pregnancy before the ct on her kidney.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history about your daughter who is 23 and has kidney stones. Had to visit ER last Tuesday due to right flank pain, she is lethargic and nauseated after the ER visit and not possible to take Zofran with Percocet. Percocet can cause nausea. The reflex nausea and vomiting is a part of process in any pain in abdomen. Gastritis due to anxiety and stress also cause nausea. Hence I would advise you the following: To go back to ER and have injections of anti-emetic and intravenous fluids to maintain hydration which is so much important. Visit to Urologist to get to the next level of definitive treatment.
