Suggest Treatment For Nausea And Pain At Incision Site Post Hernia Repair
I am 4wks post op ventral hernia repair done laparoscopically. Nausea and pain at 2 incision sites for 10+days. Had CT scan today, abd and pelvis, showed nothing to cause the pain. A new finding was thickened folds of the 3rd and 4th portions of the duodenum and proximal jejunum of uncertain etiology. What could it possibly be?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Pain after an operation may take time to completely disappear. How, the pain should not be too intense. If the pain can not be tolerated and if not controlled by ordinary pain medications like paracetamol or ibuprofen, i suggest you see your surgeon for investigation. Also, pain and nausea may not be related to the operation.CT scan shows small bowel thickening which could be caused by the following medical conditions: infections, inflammatory bowel diseases, ischemia or bowel tumours. I will suggest you see your surgeon to exclude a possible cause linked to the operation. If the case, you may then see a Gastrologist for further evaluation/investigation. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
