Suggest Treatment For Nausea And Retching In A Cancer Patient
my friend has appendix cancer that has spread to ovaries and lymph nodes>. she had surgury 3 weeks ago and they removed her appendix ovaries uterus she has to wait to do chemo because of surgury. can dca help her is is very nauseated and has dry heeves
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Since the patient is a operated case of cancer of the appendix with removal of ovaries , appendix and uterus a few weeks ago the nausea and dry heaves can be due to intestinal obstruction or secondary to effects of medications. I would advise your patient to get a proper clinical evaluation, preferably by the Doctors who operated you so that a proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations like CT scan of the abdomen and so can be done. The treatment will be as per the findings clinically and on investigations. Till then be on liquids only. Give a PPI like Pantoprazole, Domperidone and see the results.
