Hello,
The
acute abdomen, bloating with inability to pass motion for a period of 24 hours indicate
indigestion with intestine problem. My guidelines at present:
- Prescription of PPI as rabeprazole
- Anti-spasmodic tablet as
dicyclomine or drotaverine
- Antacid syrup as mylanta or others
- Consume more liquids at intervals
- Avoid spices, non veg, junk items, dairy fat
- Glycerine suppository insertion in
anal canal with sterile gloves on hand will help relieve intestine gas quickly at best way
Observe for a period of 6 hours or so, beyond which if:
- The pain persists
-
Vomiting starts
- No passage of flatus or stool
- Increase in abdomen distension
Immediately consult your doctor for evaluation with an X-ray of abdomen standing to rule out INESTINE OBSTRUCTION.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
