Suggest Treatment For Nausea, Diarrhea And Vomiting
Hi. I have a sister who is extremely sick, has been for 6 days now. she is currently being hospitalized and her symptoms include nausea, diareah, vommiting, dehydration and fever. the hospital is currently treating it as a stomach bug. she has been given bags and bags of fluids and her face is completely swelled, and her urine is still coming out a dark color. when her blood was taken she also had high liver enzymes, and her blood oxygen level was reading 84. a normally healthy 21 year old with a stomach bug does not have those readings. they hooked her up to oxygen and brought her levels back up but they are still treating it as if it were a stomach bug, which it is obviously not. any ideas?
severe infection of the stomach and intestines can cause blood pressure to be low, also it can raise liver enzymes. she needs good IV hydration and antibiotics. within a few days hopefully she will be fine. the low oxygen saturation can also be a result of infection which will get better with time.
best of luck
hope it helps
Regards
