Suggest Treatment For Nausea For My 13-year-old Daughter

My 13 year old went to the beach with a friend and her family. My daughter played in the ocean and was diving under the waves. I think she ingested some salt water. About an hour or so after coming home, she started to complain of feeling nauseous. About 2 to 3 hours after coming home, she vomited. She still is feeling nauseous. Should I take her in to be seen by an ER doc?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You can give her oral rehydration solutions (ORS) which can be accessed over the counter in the pharmacy. These will help substitute both the water and electrolytes she is loosing with the vomiting.
She needs to take it in frequent small amounts to be able to keep it in and not throw it up.

If she is not able to keep fluids in or if she is any worse then she needs to be seen by a doctor.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
