Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.
Food
poisoning is a possibility but mostly it causes more abrupt and frequent
nausea and
vomiting that last a day or two and than she is better. The fact that she is having tummy ache and a little subfebrile temperature goes more with a possible
stomach flu (
viral gastroenteritis). This generally has a more gradual onset, may cause nausea and vomiting and also tummy ache and fever and may last for few days and gradually go away.
It is important that even if she is not eating she should take plenty of fluids, giving her frequent small amount of food and fluids is advisable as this increases the chance of her not vomiting.
BRAT diet might be of help (banana, rice, apple, toast). If she is vomiting oral rehydrations solutions are important. She may take some
paracetamol to help with pains and fever and also local warm compresses on the tummy may be of help (be cautious of heat burns).
If she is still not drinking enough or is getting worse she will need to be seen by a doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
