Suggest Treatment For Neck Pain And Dizziness

I suffer from gout and aches and pains. I have recently been taking allopurinol 500 per day and 20 mg of amytryptaline to ease pain. I have recently begun to get neck pain and left arm pain and muscular pains all over. The doctor switched me to febuxostat 80 mg per day. I also came off the amytryptaline as this was making me very drowsy. The pain has worsened. I get dizziness headaches (withdrawal symptoms from amytryptaline?) as well now and itching skin particularly the ears - I have a bout of eczema behind both knees co.ukand on the eyelid. My last uric acid test a month ago showed urate level to be within tolerances.

Hello,

You are suffering from neck pain associated with dizziness. Dizziness is often associated with dehydration, anemia, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, vertigo due to neck problems, poor general heath condition, etc. Take adequate amount of water and fluids to maintain body electrolyte system. Take home made nutritious food rich in iron and minerals. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT, get your ear and neck examined.

You will require to go through a few blood tests, imaging tests, audiometry tests to detect the pathology causing you symptoms. You will be treated accordingly. Neck pain is commonly due to disc herniation, degenerative disc disease, ligament damage, infection, fracture, etc. Get treated. In the mean time, take vertin16, one SOS when you are feeling dizziness.

Do not drive or do any heavy work. You can take Vertin twice daily for 3-5 days. Before taking the medicine get physically examined by your local doctor. To reduce discomfort due to eczema, apply eczema relief cream on the area affected. Stay away from food that triggers allergy, take care of your hygiene.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
